Artist Statement - I make art to capture a mood in myself and to evoke an emotional response in others. Whether my feelings are good or bad, happy or sad - art is my way of simultaneously holding on to and releasing those feelings. I hope that my art speaks to the person who sees it. The colors, the ferocity of the strokes and the subject matter itself combine to express visually what I cannot or will not express verbally. I believe art should either make the viewer feel something or express a feeling the artist had.
